Woman - fitness

So many people assume you need an expensive gym membership, a personal trainer, and $200 Nike’s to be succesful at fitness. And of course those do work for some people, but they aren’t necessary at all. If the financial aspect of fitness is preventing you from getting fit, I’m here to tell you it doesn’t have to. My husband and I both work out at home, and have gotten in amazing shape using mostly body weight exercises (no equipment needed), and a decent set of weights.

There are so many amazing fitness experts online now, sharing their knowledge and encouragement. They want you to be healthy, and so do I! I haven’t shared with you in a while about frugal fitness, and now there are even more reliable and free resources online making it even easier to get healthy. Here are my current favourites:

Tone It Up (linked to their YouTube page where their free workouts are)
These ladies are amazing! If you are looking for an online community for support, this is it! Their YouTube channel is full of free workouts and even recipes! They are active on lots of social media platforms, sharing success stories and inspiration. If you have some money to spend, you can sign up for their programs that offer even more support, more workouts and meal plans. I’ve never paid for their full program, but I have followed along with the workouts in their famous Bikini Series twice, and both times my results were incredible!

Fitness Blender (Linked to their Website to build your personal workout plan)
This husband/wife team are the real deal when it comes to frugal fitness. “We believe that fitness should be accessible to everyone, regardless of their income. We also felt like there was a lack of reliable health and fitness information on the web, and too many people in the industry were more focused on appearance than they were on good health.” that says it all doesn’t it? My husband did a 4 week program of theirs which got him in the best shape of his life! They have a great variety of workouts, many for the “bored easy” crowd, meaning you don’t do the same move more than once! Their website is fantastic for planning out your workouts.

HASfit (Linked to you the website to determine which workout level and program is best for you)
Do you struggle to get through a workout and need loads of encouragement from a trainer? Well HASfit might be right for you. This guy is over the top with his encouraging words and positive attitude. My husband and I find it a little cheesy and comical, but that’s why we love it. His workouts are brutal, in the best way. The only way I can get through his workouts is due to his over the top encouragement! I can focus on him telling me how awesome I am and how I deserve to be healthy rather than my burning thighs and abs! And again, it’s all FREE!

It’s shouldn’t be about being skinny or the number on the scale dropping, it should be about being healthy. Working that heart so it can pump for many more years! Building muscle so you can get outside and keep up with those kids that have endless energy! Feeling happy because you know you are doing something to take care of yourself! And if all that can happen while not spending a lot of money, than I’m happy too!

**As with any exercise, it’s always best to check with your doctor before you venture into anything. The people I linked to above are personal trainers, so they know what they are talking about, but remember there are lots of people on YouTube who aren’t so be careful!**
